Forestry workers are being offered the chance to attend a free event to provide them with information on working safely within the industry.
IOSH courses may well cover some of the points which are being mentioned in the training, such as the risk caused by noise and body vibration when using equipment.
The free event will be held in Bin Forest, Huntly, Aberdeenshire, with the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) teaming up with the Forestry Commission Learning and Development specifically for the event.
Workers from across all levels of the industry, from forestry work managers through to those who are performing the labour, should benefit from the talks.
HSE inspector Jason Liggins commented: "We want to work in partnership with the forestry industry to make sure all reasonable precautions are put in place to prevent accidents."
Recent statistics published by the industry body showed that there were 5.7 deaths per 100,000 workers in the agriculture, hunting, forestry and fishing industries in 2008-09, a fall on the previous year.
