A safety campaign from the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has received further support from a state-of-the-art college.
Students on health and safety courses may be pleased to hear that their contemporaries at Darlington College have promised, along with the institution's staff, to support the Shattered Lives scheme.
In order to reduce the number of slips, trips and falls that occur in the centre's industry areas, which cover the likes of plumping, plastering and brickwork, safety footwear and risk assessments have been introduced.
David Cole, HSE principal inspector for the north-east, said it was great to see them backing the campaign and helping the employees and students understand how to prevent incidents in the workplace.
Tim Grant, Darlington College's principal and chief executive, added: "We are also looking into E-learning courses for staff to help them further understanding of hazards."
Other businesses can get behind the scheme by accessing the information on the industry body's website and ordering up to five free danger signs which can be displayed throughout their premises.
