‘IOSH Managing Safely in the World of Work’ aims to teach supervisors and managers how to control hazards and reduce risks in the workplace as part of an effective Health and Safety management system.
Many find the flexibility of this open distance learning course attractive. We agree a completion programme to suit your work, and other, commitments. However, you should comfortably complete the course within 4 months.

- Section 4: Workplace hazards
- Section 5: Handling incidents
- Section 6: Monitoring systems and performance
- Section 7: Safety Management System
Your assigned tutor will provide feedback on each of these, to help build your knowledge. Assignments and feedback are communicated by conventional mail.
At the end of the programme you will need to complete a final assessment. This comprises two parts:
- A short test of the knowledge you have gained through this course.
- A practical assessment that includes a risk assessment of your place of work
